Moving Ahead...

We are delighted to see the area communities come together to support the Long Prairie Chamber Orchestra.  Many new things have taken place from a new mission and concert series to new members in both musicians and supporters.  The orchestra continually stretches its ideas to center the concerts as a family friendly performance and always encourages all to come and enjoy the experience.

Currently, the Long Prairie Chamber Orchestra has a four concert season:  Fall, Winter - Messiah, Spring and Summer Pops.

Oppportunity for Schools in the Communities

The Long Prairie Chamber Orchestra has started a program to offer a free season pass to any student involved in a music program.   We see the need to contribute through diversified programming and professional guest artists and wish to reach out to the communities' schools in hope to see more and more students and schools take advantage of the great concert opportunities.  If you or your school is interested in this program, please use the "Contact Us" link along with contact name, schools, how many students in music programs and we will send you the free season passes to your school.

In The News...

May 2008

We just finished our Spring Concert last weekend and were quite pleased with the turn out and the responsive energy from the audience.  Now that the concert is over, we have next season concerts dates posted with our guest soloists' bios to view.  Go ahead and mark your calendars ahead of time (and invite your friends).

Keep in mind, we have another concert tour in June and an ice cream social in August.  Go to the Events and Concerts to see what it is all about.

This is the time of the year where we need your financial support the most.  Next season will be one to remember, but we need financial support to cover the cost of the hall, soloists, equipment and director's stipend.  Please consider helping us continue to offer the community great music through your financial contribution

April 2008

Our Spring Concert is approaching fast.  The orchestra is excited about this upcoming concert and are working hard to make this a great concert.

Here's our challenge to you: Bring a friend, family or someone who has never seen an orchestra performance.  All ages are welcome to the concert.  Matter of fact, if you have youngsters who listen to "Little Einsteins", they may recognize the piece the Firebird Suite.

We are very proud of what we are offering to the community.  We hope you come and hear why.

February 2008

The rehearsals for the Spring Concert will be starting soon.  We have a delightful "Tour of the Eras" program waiting to tantalize your mind.  You can check it out by clicking the "Concerts and Events" and "Rehearsal Calendar" links.

If you play a woodwind, brass or percussion instrument, please contact us about the opportunities to play and also to be placed on our call listing.  Like with most orchestras, you can never have enough violin, viola, cello or string bass.  If you play one of these instruments, please consider being a part of the orchestra.

We are always looking for volunteers who are interested helping out with posters, ushering, stage setup, making calls, baking cookies (I couldn't resist), etc.  If you are interested in helping out with the orchestra's needs, please click on the "Contact Us" link.
